Physiognomy - Face Reading

Physiognomy is an assessment and analysis of the human body, particularly the face.

The theory is that the face gives insights into an individuals personality, emotions, and character.

physiognomy face reading analysis It originated in India and spread throughout the world, particularly to Greece, Japan, and China, and is closely linked to astrology.

It has been around since ancient times although outlawed by Henry VIII of England along with Palmistry.

Scientific physiognomy has been revived under the title "personology," and has been used for detecting criminal tendencies.

Physiognomy analyzes: nose, chin, ears, shape of face, teeth, cheek color, eyes, eye brows, lips, tongue, and voice.

East vs. West

The peoples of the east focus on the eyes. They are subtle but reveal a lot.

The peoples of the west focus on the mouth, the most expressive feature of the face.

For example, look at the emoticons used on a computer...

Japanese for happy face (^_^)

USA for happy face :-)

Japanese for sad face (;_;)

USA for sad face :-(

It's interesting to note, even on the computer and emails, it's the eye's for the Japanese, that they focus on, and the mouth for the west.
